Pet Ultrasound Alpharetta, GA

pet ultrasoundUltrasonography is a noninvasive, pain-free procedure that uses sound waves to examine a pet’s internal organs and other structures inside the body.

It can be used to evaluate and detect abnormalities in the:

  • Heart
  • Kidney
  • Liver
  • Gall bladder
  • Spleen
  • Pancreas
  • Gastrointestinal tract
  • Adrenal Glands
  • Urinary bladder
  • Reproductive organs

Ultrasonography is also helpful when detecting the presences of fluid, cysts, tumors and abscesses. It also allows us to confirm pregnancy and monitor an ongoing pregnancy.

Many pets will lie quietly for the ultrasound examination. Occasionally, sedation or anesthesia is needed for very nervous pets or those needing biopsies.

We may use this imaging in conjunction with radiography (x-rays) and other diagnostic methods to ensure a proper diagnosis. These procedures are evaluated by a Board Certified Veterinary Radiologist.

For more information about our x-ray and ultrasound equipment, as well as veterinary imaging, please call Midway Animal Hospital. We also offer pet vaccinations, pet surgery and offer elder pet care help.

“After moving to Alpharetta I was so worried about finding a vet for my 2 little furry kids that would match the professionalism, level of care, and love for animals that our vet in Decatur had. I called to interview vets before booking appointments and immediately liked this staff. We have now been patients of theirs for over a year – 1 dog has had 2 annual visits & the other has only had 1 – but this will be our vet for as long as we are in Alpharetta!”
